Alice is a proactive and motivated student with ambitions to become a nurse; her passion to facilitate change shines through her service and volunteering in her community. Alice hopes to contribute to society and serve as a leader to her peers through kindness, motivation, and conscientiousness.
Alice is most proud of her efforts to shine light on women’s oppression through the annual National History Day competition where students create projects on historical events or people. Each year – in pursuit of invoking change – Alice unlocks untold stories from different perspectives, interviewing people across the world to create documentaries related to prejudice against women; her work has covered topics ranging from the Radium Girls to Roe v. Wade. Through sharing these stories, Alice hopes to push back against prejudice and inspire others to do the same.
Additionally, Alice volunteers weekly with her local library, sharing her passion for reading with others. At school, she takes an active role in shaping school culture, serving as the Secretary for Student Council and HOSA.
Alice is inspired by the love and support from her family and friends to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse. Above all, she is able to persevere in the memory of her grandmother. Although she has overcome many losses, Alice is driven by her wish to serve her community and become a leader for many.
