WHAT ARE LEADER WEEKS?
During their time within the Hamilton Empowerment Program, scholars will have the opportunity to attend three fully expenses paid leadership conferences called leader weeks. Students will be able to engage in the following:
SAT/ACT Prep
College Essay Prep
Professional Networking
Financial Literacy
1 on 1 Mentoring with College/Career Prep Professionals
Personal Development Plans
Meaningful Goal Development
Hamilton Scholars will be able to refine their college application, engage in workshops to transition into college life, and establish meaningful connections that will aid in their personal and professional lives.
Scholars will engage in workshops aimed at providing the resources to create meaningful goals within their journey through higher education. These goals are then set in motion through the development of a Personal Development Plan, where students are then tasked with bringing these goals to fruition. These are components of the Alexander Hamilton Scholars’ Empowerment Toolkit that aids our Hammies through and beyond the Leader Weeks.
Each leader week is centered around a general theme as follows:
Year 1 Leader Week: College Readiness | High School Senior
Year 2 Leader Week: College Transition | College Freshman
Year 3 Leader Week: Internship & Career Readiness | College Sophomore
Destination sites for each leader week is subject to change, with students being given the opportunity to engage with the local community.
